Hey, I just posted a new piece that I made in collaboration with Samantha Bittman.

We made this piece for the show, A Coupling, curated by Josh Reames at Hungryman Gallery. Sam and I each spent a couple hours everyday working for about 5 weeks to complete it in time for the exhibition. I actually found latch hooking to be a pretty addictive and rewarding process. I think we were both very happy with how our earth turned out.

Thanks to everyone who came out this Saturday for the opening of ‘A Coupling’ at Hungryman Gallery. Sam and I both had a good time and we hope you did too. Pics coming soon.

New Drawing!
Finally just finished a drawing that I’ve been working on since December!

‘Four Rainbows Over Niagara Falls (What Does This Mean?)’
Four Rainbows Over Niagara Falls is the title of the Albert Bierstadt painting from which this image was taken: http://www.albertbierstadt.org/Four-Rainbows-Over-Niagara-Falls.html . What Does This Mean? is a quote from this youtube video in which Hungrybear9562 succumbs to existential euphoria at the sight of a full double rainbow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQSNhk5ICTI .
Excited to start something new. Also details coming soon about a cool upcoming exhibition.
On another note, I spent this Sunday morning reading ‘Wabi-Sabi: For Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers’ by Leonard Koren. Next time I have to put together an artist statement or talk about my work at length, I think I’m going to take a lot from this book. However, I’m still trying to piece together my interest in japanesee zen philosophy with my optimism and confidence in futurist notions of technological progress.
And lastly, Hungryman Gallery just posted some nice installation shots of ‘A Coupling’ on their site: http://www.hungrymangallery.com/shows/a-coupling/ . a couple good ones of our ‘Earth’ latch-hooked rug.
